I was tasked with establishing Blaze's core visual identity, which would represent its existing tone of voice and connect with its target audience.

    Balancing Blaze’s bold, eclectic, and irreverent aesthetic with the audience’s needs was key to bringing this visual personality to life.

  • In sketching the logos for Blaze, I focused on creating unique and engaging iconography for the brand’s target audience.

    My goal was to create a logo that reflects the client values, connects with the audience and provides a balanced combination of functionality and character.

  • The three digital logo sketches were inspired by symbol combinations representing the brand’s unique tone of voice. Each variation combines the brand values of community, people, warmth, and flame in an edgy style that nods to their tone of voice.

    After sharing the logo sketches with the client, we decided to move towards a friendlier appearance. The final logo design uses the 'Shaka’ hand symbol with an emerging flame and a rounded, bold sans-serif wordmark.

    This updated design emphasizes balance, symmetry, and variety to create a fun, interesting appearance that meets the client and audience needs.
